“I kept the promise I made at the end of my review for book 1 The Amethyst Talisman and got my hands on a copy of this as soon as was humanly possible and it was so worth it!… In this one we have our already established band of six, who we fell in love with in the last book, heading off to rescue Phire’s brother Malachite. We meet some new and old acquaintances along the way in this one, some good to see and some not so much!… Plot-wise, I loved the journey they had to take to find information on the whereabouts of Malachite and also the missing Fire Opal, like a not-so-fun treasure hunt! The magic aspects, some I was expecting, some not so much, were well thought out and well-explained… The story ended nicely, about where you’d expect, no huge annoying cliffhangers that leave you feeling like you’ve stopped mid-book. But with the overarching story being clearly unfinished, making you need to read on and see how the rest of it plays out! You absolutely need to read this series, even if you’re not usually into fantasy, I promise it’s worth it!… I absolutely cannot wait for book 3 now!!! “
